Local legend is a secular tale, often of an extraordinary nature, that reflects a specific time and place. These legends are not only intriguing but also give insight into a local’s history, culture and traditions.
Hilton Head’s serene beaches and quaint neighborhoods are home to some local legends. Local Legend Brewing Company is a new place where stories are celebrated, connections fostered, and every drink feels like a nod to the community’s vibrant, eclectic character.
The brewery is helmed by a team of seasoned pros with extensive backgrounds in brewing, including newest SERG partner Stephen Streeter, a Navy veteran and former mathematician. His expertise ensures the brewery’s brews are high-quality, balanced and delicious, including staples like the King Tide Hazy IPA and rotating experimental brews that complement each season.
In addition to its enchanting beaches and historic buildings, Saint Augustine is rife with local legends. From swashbuckling pirates and ghostly encounters to the Love Trees (entwined southern oak trees that signify eternal love), the town’s mystical heritage makes for an unforgettable visit.
The Local Legend (LCL) achievement is awarded to the athlete who completes a segment more times than anyone else over a rolling 90 day window, regardless of pace or speed. Once an athlete becomes LCL, a Laurel crown icon will appear on the Local Legend section of the histogram leaderboard in the Strava mobile app and on the segment details page. The LCL will be displayed alongside the current top athletes in the run, ride, walk, hike, and alpine/backcountry/nordic ski categories. Only efforts shared with “Everyone” will count towards being a Local Legend; see the FAQ for more information about sharing your activities.
